In the tense and dynamic world we live in, at some point each of us is overwhelmed by the urge to realize our desires, to find harmony, peace or safety. So he gets involved in the struggle to find a better place, a better way of life, to completely reinvent himself. Often, when such a moment comes, we think we are ready for it, and it seems to us that a strong desire and idea of change (the golden key in the character’s hand) will lead us to success. A person undertakes a search for a "door", passing through which, he will be able to realize his ideas, desires, dreams, he will "escape" from problems, grayness and everyday life. THE CIRCLE (2023)
The video and the song share some kind of idea of insecurity, loneliness and wandering, that is, searching for security, finding faith in oneself and others. The whole song is quite melancholic, wishful and I wanted to explore that theme (that's why the action is on the open sea, where there is no one anywhere). The repeating motif of the boat symbolizes turning in a circle, returning again to some uncomfortable period in life, when it seems that everything around you is completely foreign, you have no one and you need to get out of it, you need to find at least a small glimmer of hope that this time all will not be the same again and you will not return to that situation. Sometimes, of course, it happens that someone offers that glimmer of hope unprovoked, and then you have to learn to accept it, because that's what overcomes everything for good. Does everyone think about the best moment of the day in the evening? Do we value them or take them for granted? Do we even notice the little joys in life, that make us smile at the most unexpected moments? Are these moments passing by, or are we living them? Do we still invoke them in our weaker moments, or are they forgotten? Do we find meaning in our lives, or do we see everyday life as a big mess? How well can a single question reveal the world views, value systems, and priorities of different people? Why do we distance ourselves from our fellow humans when we are all one? The animated anthropological documentary seeks answers to these questions. I ask people about the best moment of their day, the characters are of different genders, nationalities, ages coming from different social areas.
