In medicine, the word Fugue is reffering to a disturbed condition in which you have the urge to run away from personal problems, by changing your identity and starting a new life. From the musical perspective it refers to a systemically conducted imitation, wherein one voice is 'fleeing' in front of others after which they eventually merge into one. Running away from the reality into fiction, the author faces absurdity.
