In the center of this story is an old man on last days of his life. His memories goes back years ago, when he acted with three friends in his “Bar Café”, placed in an isolated valley in North Albania. The tension and the conflict between them raises when a young woman starts working in the bar. The older of the group, ‘Blade’ looks Afina as a money source. On the other side the relation Afina-Jackal is developing. Afina and Jackal, left outside of the society try to support each other. The conflict between Afine-Jackal and the criminal group reaches its culmination when Afina is raped from three friends of Jackal. At this point Jackal decides to end this nightmare between the group.They love eatch other, but when an argument erupts between them, Afina disappears. After his father's sudden death, the whole village begins to remind Asad of his legacy to his father. VERA (2022)
Film VERA is a spy thriller with elements of melodrama. The film is inspired by the true story of Vera Pešić (1919–1944), a WW2 spy dubbed by some people the Serbian Mata Hari. The leading character of VERA is a young woman caught in the grip not only of a wartime espionage network but also of a patriarchal society in the Balkans swarming with powerful, arrogant men she bravely and brazenly deals with. The film gives a female point of view and addresses the position of women in a predominantly male world - both the traditional Balkan and the professional espionage. That is why VERA, first of all, is a women's film, a story about a woman in a man's world, and that is why it is relevant for the present moment: it is a possible and appropriate story even today, more than 70 years later. Semih and Ceren are about to get married. An hour before the ceremony starts, we find Semih and Mert (the best man) in the hotel room, where Semih does his last preps. Mert is Semih's best friend. They first met during Work & Travel, where their friendship was strengthened. However, on his important day, Mert acts uneasy, questioning Semih if he has made the right choice. Right at that moment, Ceren rushes into the room, frantic with all the fuzz that comes with the wedding. Ceren's visit prompts Mert to be more provocative and gradually he begins to interrogate the couple on fidelity. This questioning creates a tense atmosphere among the three, soon revealing the secret relationship between Semih and Mert. Ceren, stunned hearing this, contemplates canceling the wedding- something Mert has been secretly wishing. However, this is not an easy decision, leaving the three discussing over the next hour with discussions become more heated as we learn that Ceren has also been unfaithful to Semih and that now she is pregnant though she claims the father is Semih. Despite all the secrets and lies, Semih and Ceren decide to maintain the happy couple image and exit the room holding hands to be wedded, leaving Mert alone behind. CAGE:BETWEEN TWO BATTLES (2022)
Cage is the story of the transformation of a nationalist and macho man, defeated by the system, trying to heal the traumas of the war in his soul with other wounds, in the graveyard of the orphans, against the backdrop of a misty, cold and poor Istanbul. Burak, who grew up in orphanages, is a former MMA cage fighter who lost his squad in the region where he voluntarily went during his compulsory military service and became a veteran by being injured on his face. Returning is not easy for him as he experiences post-traumatic stress disorder. He is thrown into loneliness and cannot establish a healthy relationship with himself or the outside world. Society does not show him the respect he thinks he deserves. Burak, who cannot hold on to life, withdraws himself by avoiding everything about war, violence and struggle, leaving his cage-fighting career completely and moving away from that environment. He is experiencing economic difficulties and tries to continue his life by trying to sell the cats he breeds in cages. Burak lives in a hovel in a poor neighborhood with his friend Veysi from the orphanage. Veysi is a grumpy dwarf who plays small roles in series and movies but has great ideals. Despite all the secrets and lies, Semih and Ceren decide to maintain the happy couple image and exit the room holding hands to be wedded, leaving Mert alone behind...
