Open call for entries for 4th edition of SEE a Paris

The fourth edition of the Film Festival of South-East European cinema "SEE a Paris", which will be held from 27 to 30 April 2014, has officially opened its call for entries and accepts submissions of short, medium, and long films for the Main Competition.
All shooting formats are accepted. The Festival is opened to all types of films (feature, documentary, fiction and animation) whose directors and/or producers originate from the SEE countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey. The duration of the short films must not exceed 15 minutes. There's no time limit for feature, documentary and animation films.

The deadline for submission is March 15th 2014.


There is no submission fee.
We prefer online submission through the web platforms www.festhome.com.
You can, however, still apply directly to the Festival. In this case, it is mandatory that applicants send a download link or link to online screener of their film, along with a filled and signed SUBMISSION FORM on the mail info@seeaparis.com. For any other form of submission, please contact us by mail.

The selected applicants shall be informed about the selection of their film by the 10th of April 2013. The Festival line-up shall be announced by April 15th 2014 on the Festival website.

The selected films will be screened on digital files in FULL HD format. If participant insist on other format it’s possible to organize projection on 35mm and Beta SP. In this case a participant covers the costs for shipping and transportation of the film.

Third edition of SEE a Paris, after four days of screening of the films from all South-East Europe finished today on 25 May 2013.
According to the jury members consisted by: Yves Boisset - President of the jury, Emmanuelle Galabru - Actress, Sacha Goldman - Film producer at Media, Hazis Vardar - Director of the Theatre Du Palace, Zoran Zivkovic - Director fo Montenegro Film Festival, the best movies for 2013 are:
- Best SEE Film: "Shanghai Gypsy" (SL)
- Best SEE Film Director: "Cemil Ağacıkoğlu" (TR), for the film "September"
- Best SEE Screenplay: "Robert Budina" (AL-GR-RO), for the film "Sunrise"
- Best SEE Actress: "Ana Karic" (HR), for the film "Night boats"
- Best SEE Actor: "Branimir Popovic" (MN), for the film "Ace of spades - Bad destiny"
- Best SEE music: "Sasha Loshic" (SL), for the film "Shanghai Gypsy"
- Best SEE short film: "There's a man in the habit of hitting me on the head with an umbrella" (MK), by Vardan Tozija
- Best SEE animated film: "Kyamet" (BH),  by author Ivan Ramadan
- Special Jury Award (ex-ecco), for the short movies:
"Snow" (KO), by Fisnik Muji and "At home" (SR) by Nenad Mikalacki

Sucesfully opened third edition of SEE a Paris

On May 22, Paris for the third time opened the doors for films from South-Eastern Europe. The third edition of the festival SEE a Paris had opening ceremony which took place in two parts. The first part in the form of Academic ceremony was held at the Institute of Oriental Languages ​​and Civilizations (INALCO), with the addresses of Ambassador to Montenegro, Mrs. Irena Radovic, President of INALCO, Mrs. Manuelle Franck, Professors Marie Sybille de Vien and Frosa Bouchra, and presidents of the Festival SEE a Paris, Mr. Yves Boisset and Mr. Jordan Plevnes.
In INALCO marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Njegosh was shown Njegosh documentary directed by Branko Baletic and after this film as homage to early passed legendary Macedonian documentary film maker Ljube Cvetanovski was screened his film "The whole Balkan in one man" dedicated to the artist Omer Kaleshi.
After that the audience had opportunity to see a selection of short and animated films.
The opening ceremony continued at the prestigious cultural center L'Entrepot, which was attended by many representatives of the French media, Ambassadors of Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Macedonia and Turkey, as well as representatives of UNESCO, under whose patronage this event takes place. The Director for International Communications at UNESCO, Mr Jacques Rao, read the letter of the Director General of UNESCO, Ms Irina Bokova.
His speech had the mayor of the city Ohrid, Mr. Nikola Bakracheski, who presented Ohrid as a candidate for European Capital of Culture in 2020.
During the opening ceremony French actor Thierry Fremont, handed the lifetime achievement award "SEE Actor" to legendary Meto Jovanovski, who in his exceptionally rich career has made over 60 film roles in all the countries of South-Eastern Europe and with whom they played together in the movie "The Secret Book" by Vlado Cvetanovski.
After the opening ceremony were shown short film "Roses" by University’s of audiovisual arts from Skopje graduated director Goran Bjelanovikj, which this year is selected within the program Short Corner at Cannes, and Croatian film "Night Ship" by Igor Mirkovic.
As a conclusion to the first evening audience enjoyed in the concert of the Macedonian troubadours "La Colonie Volvox", led by the remarkable Saso Gigov Gish, who met with remarkable reception by French audiences.
The festival runs until 25 March and continues in the cultural center L'Entrepot a selection of films from across South-Eastern Europe.

Announced program for the third edition of "SEE a Paris"

Official program of the third edition of SEE a Paris is announced. All details about selected movies can be found in Program 2013 section.
Because of the huge number of quality documentary films, this year we made efforts to organize separate screenings of documentary films as "SEE a Paris Docs", which will happen during the "Campus européen Langues et traductions : Francophonie et itinéraires slaves", in INALCO (Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales – Paris).
Also screening of selection of short and animation movies, from this year will be realized in INALCO, but from this year screening will be complemented with debates.
Traditionally, same as previous two years, all feature films will be screened in cultural center L'Entrepot and same location will be host of literary event "SEE a Paris - Paris a SEE".
Beside the films on the first day audience will have opportunity to enjoy extraordinary music group from Macedonia La Colonie Volvox.

Selection committee of SEE a Paris got a huge number of quality feature, documentary, short and animated films and currently we are working on selection of the program. The program will be announced between 15 and 20 April 2013.
This year's third edition of SEE a Paris, will be held in the period between 22 and 25 May 2013 on two locations in Paris.
Main program will be located same as previous years in L'Entrepot and selection of short and documentary films will be screened in INALCO.

Finished second edition of SEE a Paris

The fourth day of SEE a Paris started with the screening of two movies in main competition "The City of Children" by Giorgos Gikapeppas and "This is not American movie" by Sasho Pavlovski. On the closing screening the audience saw 3 movies, short film "Alarm" by young director and student of University of audiovisual arts ESRA, Ana Aleksovska, short movie "Sarah, the Myth", by Sasha Stanisic and Turkish movie "Pomegranate" by Ümit Ünal.
The ceremony of pronouncing of awards continued in the Amphitheater of ESRA "Jean Renoir" where special guest was Mayer of City of Kumanovo Mr. Zoran Damjanovski, who was pronounced as the "SEE personality 2012". This evening in the honor of awarded authors and films their performances had Nino Velichkovski accompained by Kumanovski Tamburashi and Macedonian bass Aleksandar Stefanovski
President of the Jury Max Azoulay and the members of the jury Bülent Kücükerdogan, Zoran Zivkovic and Yves Allion decided to be awarded following movies and authors:

- Best film production: “How I was stolen by the Germans”, Serbia
- Special festival award: Sasha Stanishic - “Sarah, the myth”, Macedonia
- Best Director: Ümit Ünal - "Pomegranate", Turkye and Branko Baletic - "Local Vampire", Montenegro (ex-ecco)
- Best Scenario: Ümit Ünal - "Pomegranate", Turkye
- Best Actress: Jelena Djokic - “How I was stolen by the Germans”, Serbia

- Best Film Music: Nedim Zlatar, Leonardo Šarić - “Belvedere”, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Third day of SEE a Paris 2012

The third day of the SEE a Paris started with the projection of the movie "Little Night Fairy Tale", in the presence of film director Nikolaj Akimov who introduced his movie to the audience. Than program continued with selection of the shorts by Balkan authors from Universities from all over the world and selection of short, animated and documentary movies. Later in the day audience had a chance to see for the first time in Paris the Bulgarian movie "Love.net", by Ilian Djevelekov and Montenegro movie 'Local Vampire" by Branko Baletic.

Second day of SEE a Paris 2012

On second day of SEE a Paris 2012 was presented the selection of short, animated and documentary movies in the Amphitheater of ESRA. Program continued in L'Entrepot where was organized the first screening of the short movie "Homage for Charlie Chaplin" by Orhan Kerkezi and Adem Rusinovici from Kosovo, with the presence of the actor Omer Kaleshi, one of the most known Balkan painters and Orhan Kerkezi, film director. Than it was shown the movies "15 July" from Romania and "Belvedere" from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The audience also saw the movie "Daddy" by Croatian director Dalibor Matanic.
Same as in the first edition of SEE a Paris today was organized literary meeting of French authors published in SEE countries and SEE authors published in France.
