Whilst in the Prishtina Academy of Arts-Acting department, she played in numerous theater play's and short films and choreodrama's. Arta Dobroshi shot to international renown for her depiction of Lorna in 'Le Silence De Lorna' directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. Dobroshi was nominated in Cannes for her remarkable work on the role.
Dobroshi was also nominated for Best Actress at the European Academy Awards. She received unanimously high praise from international press.
Her performance in Three Worlds directed by Catherine Corsini, won her the Barbara Tipple Best Actress Award at the Women's International Film and Television Showcase in Los Angeles and the nomination for Meilleur Espoir Feminine at the Cesar Awards in France.
She has been awarded with the European Shooting Star Award at the Berlinale Film Festival. The jury commented: In Three Worlds, this actress displays a wealth of warmth and humanity. Her sensitivity and smartness literally take over the big screen the minute she appears. An overwhelming performance.
Dobroshi stars in the Massive Attack video Come Near Me, featuring Ghostpoet. WIth her New Zealand film "Stray" directed by Dustin Feneley, Dobroshi won best actress at Festival des Antipodes in San Tropez. 'Stray' premiered at the 40th Moscow International Film Festival.
Dobroshi's new film "Drita" where she stars and executive produced, premiered at the Zurich Film Festival 2019.
Dobroshi stars in the new HBO/Sky Atlantic series "Gangs of London". She is currently working on the post production of her new film "Emili".
This year 2020, Dobroshi was decorated by the French government with the Medal of Knighthood of Arts and letters ( Chevalier de l'ordre des arts et lettres), for her contribution in the arts. Some of the recipients of the award include Paul Auster,Ornette Coleman, Marilyn Horne, Jim Jarmusch, Richard Meier, Robert Paxton, Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Uma Thurman.
Dobroshi is an advocate of peace. She speaks of human rights throughout the world.
